Foresight Film Festival

The Foresight Filmfestival is the first science-vision festival that invites visionaries from research, film making, media, and society to
discuss the questions of “How do we want to live? How will we live?” It is also the opportunity to take a look into the future from both a technological
and societal standpoint and begin developing concrete visions together to shape the future.

Date and Time:
The Foresight Filmfestival No. 3 is scheduled to take place in Halle (Saale) on October 26, 2017, starting at 6:00 p.m.. It will also be
broadcast online on www.foresight-filmfestival.de

Who Can Participate?
Visionaries from all disciplines – research, media, film making, culture – that are excited about working with one another, competing with one
another, and challenging oneself to discuss and convey their visions for the future in short films all in the interest of society.

2017 Discussion Topics:

1. Foresight Update
Your filmic answers to urgent, forward-looking questions concerning society and technology, in short: your vision – our world of tomorrow.

2. City, Country, Interspace
Where will we live in the future? In megacities with skyscrapers, stretched for miles? On the flat countryside in self-supporting communities? In small towns digitally connected to the whole world?

Format:
The clips should be a minimum of thirty seconds and a maximum of fifteen minutes long. Requested file formats: .mov and .mp4 with an
H264 encoding. We look forward to receiving films in HD resolution (720p or 1080p with an aspect ratio of 16:9). The data rate (bit rate) should be at least 5000 kbit/s.

The deadline for submitting spots is August 6, 2017.
